The mice from the CMJO have come to the Recital
They wiggle their ears when they like the music

*Millie Mouse - violinist & *Geoffrey Human - accompanist
Vitali Chaconne in g minor by Tomaso Vitale
Romanza Andaluza by Pablo de Sarasate
Violin Sonata in A Major by César Franck

    Preparing for a recital
  • Scales are the primary study.
  • Play scales for warmup before a performance.
  • Use the keys your solo is in.
  • Preparation of your technic
  • took place while you were studying your etudes.
  • A good performer needs complete technical mastery with an interpretation that is convincing to everyone.
  • The best performance appears as an improvisation in which the violinist is moved by the music.
  • The truly artistic interpretation cannot be taught.
  • Only a personal approach is truly artistic.
  • Tone, pitch and rhythm are the basic elements for a good performance.
  • Technic needs to combine with interpretion for successful performance.
  • Arrive at least 20 minutes before the performance
  • Dress nicely, and try playing in the outfit you have chosen to wear.
  • Be sure to practice playing in the shoes you plan to wear.
If you pracetice well and are prepared
you will not need to be a scared mouse,
like this poor little scared mouse,
    and can perform with confidence.
